First State Bank Nebraska Hosts Successful Food Drive Face-Off
First State Bank Nebraska recently organized a successful Food Drive Face-Off, showcasing a friendly competition between the Waverly and Norris school districts during their home football game on September 15th. The event aimed to support local food pantries through food and cash donations.
In the spirited contest, Waverly emerged as the victor, receiving a $500 donation from First State Bank Nebraska. Their efforts garnered $281.50 in cash donations, plus food items donated by Waverly’s fans, and all contributions were directed to the Waverly Food Pantry.
Norris fans came together to collect $116 in cash donations and boxes full of food items, which will benefit the Norris Area Food Pantry.
In a similar initiative, First State Bank Nebraska organized a Food Pantry Face-Off between the Tri County and Freeman school districts at their volleyball game in DeWitt on October 5th. Tri County claimed victory, earning a $500 donation from the bank. They also amassed $360.50 in monetary donations and a significant amount of non-perishable food donations, which will benefit the DeWitt Food Pantry.
Freeman showcased remarkable community spirit, collecting $403 in cash donations and numerous non-perishable food items. Their contributions will be directed to the Community Food Pantry of Beatrice.
In total, both events combined to donate over 1,000 food items to their chosen local food pantries, making a significant impact on the community.
